GOODWIN HEALTHCARE – A ROUND UP OF EVENTS AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER 2025
August flew by, helped along by some gorgeous sunny weather! It was a busy month, with both Annual Leave and Sickness having a significant impact on our service. As always, this brought its own set of challenges in ensuring all our Service Users received their allocated calls.
A big thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding during this time – your support is truly appreciated.
Now that we’re in September, the kids are back at school and – hopefully – routines are starting to fall back into place.
Here are a few things that have been happening recently:-
Carer of The Month
We recently announced the award winners for July and August as follows:
July 2025 – Sarah was awarded in recognition of her outstanding commitment, dedication, and the exceptional care she provides on a daily basis. She consistently goes above and beyond in her role, approaching every task with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting others. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Sarah; she takes every challenge in her stride and always puts the needs of the individuals she supports first. Whether it’s stepping in at short notice, staying late to ensure someone is comfortable, or simply going the extra mile to brighten someone’s day, her dedication does not go unnoticed. Sarah is not only a trusted colleague but also a source of inspiration to others. Her work ethic, kindness, and consistent willingness to help wherever needed truly set her apart. She is more than deserving of this recognition.
August 2025 – Ellie has been awarded in recognition for consistently going above and beyond in her role, not only providing excellent care to service users, but also leaving a lasting, positive impression on everyone she interacts with — including those outside of our organisation. Recently, a cleaner who supports one of our service users shared how genuinely pleased she was after Ellie’s visit. She mentioned that Ellie had left everything so tidy and respectful that there was nothing left for her to clean. It may seem like a small gesture, but in care work, attention to detail and respect for a person’s home environment speak volumes about someone’s character and professionalism. This feedback reflects the pride Ellie takes in her work and her understanding that good care goes beyond just tasks, it’s about creating comfort, dignity, and ease for both the service user and those who support them. Ellie’s actions show that she treats every home as if it were her own, and every individual with respect. She represents the values of care, integrity, and excellence in everything she does.

We’d like to take a moment to recognise the incredible work Caleb has been doing. We’ve received excellent feedback from new carers who have shared how much confidence Caleb has given them. He has been extremely supportive and helpful, making a real difference in their early experiences on the job.
Caleb has also shown remarkable perseverance and professionalism when working with a service user with behavioural challenges. Despite the difficulties, he remained committed and handled the situation with great resilience.
What truly stands out about Caleb is his positive attitude—he never complains about his rota or any of his care calls. He consistently gets on with the job, no matter how challenging it may be.
Thank you, Caleb, for your dedication and the positive impact you’re making every day. You’re a true asset to the team!
HAPPINESS PROGRAM
This week, Goodwin Healthcare had the honour of visiting a care home with the Happiness Program, where we connected with residents through Bingo, “Play Your Cards Right,” and a good old-fashioned sing-a-long. It filled our hearts to see how much joy and laughter filled the room. Did you know, our Service Users can request the Happiness Program to visit them in their own home. Just contact the office for further details and a chat. It’s certainly been a week of giving, sharing, and making memories 💛

What is the Happiness Program?
The Happiness Program focuses on promoting joy and fulfilment through:
-
Meaningful Connections: Engaging in conversations that connect and inspire.
-
Creative Activities: Encouraging self-expression through art, music, or hobbies.
-
Physical Well-Being: Tailoring light exercises to boost mood and health.
-
Mindfulness: Offering relaxation and moments of peace throughout the day.
The Impact So Far
Since the pilot began, we’ve seen positive results from service users who feel more engaged, happier, and supported in their daily lives.
Why We’re Different
What sets the Happiness Program apart is its holistic approach—caring not only for the physical needs but also for the emotional well-being of those we support. We’re proud to be the only domiciliary care provider bringing this unique, joy-centred initiative into home care.
